HTC Vive is a virtual reality device that can transform whole rooms into a canvas for artistic exploration. Powered by an extremely high-end computer, Hudson’s Innovation Hub allows students to explore this new technology; it opens their eyes to the possibilities of the future.
One student from Hudson’s Upper School Media Arts class, using this technology, had an opportunity to “paint” something he was familiar with, his room. Afterwards, students in his class were able to go into his painting and experience the creation from a first-person perspective. This device, featuring dozens of paintbrushes including the Google-developed app Tilt Brush, allows students to express their creative nature and to take traditional two-dimensional panting techniques to the third dimension. When in Hudson’s Innovation Hub, our Huskies can truly be able to shoot for the stars.
